Why Trig Point of all names?

Well, there’s a number of compelling reasons we named our new business Trig Point Print and Frame. In case you didn’t know, Trig Points (or Triangulation Stations) are reference points used for finding your way. A bit like us, they’re typically found on tops of hills and mountains. In New Zealand Trig Points are a very cool triangular shape, which we are fans off. Lastly the initials TP just happens to coincide with our family’s initials of Team Pollard.

The Trig Point pictured here is from above Lyttelton Harbour, here on the Banks Peninsula. If you know where to look, you can see our house across the water.

But it didn’t start with us

It’s a classic case of serendipity. With printing already partly on the go and with Vicky having completed training in the art of framing we were on our way to diversify our business but with no means to get it going. During the great Lockdown of April 2020, we chanced upon Bruce from Rangiora. Bruce was retiring from 40 years as a picture framer and wanted to sell all of his equipment. He was delighted to sell it as one lot and we were very happy to buy it. With help from family we moved it all down to our home and Instantly we had our workshop. We are proud to continue Bruce’s legacy of craftsmanship and service.

Thank you so much Bruce.

If you fancy a little story
